OK Radio has spoken to people in most of the North coast communities about the ice conditions.
Barry Andersen is the Community Constable for Makkovik.
He says the ice is not too bad yet, and people are still going off on the land, going hunting and fishing.
The sina is close to Jacko’s island, which is not too far out.
Andersen says please remind people to be careful this time of the year on the ice.
And let someone know when and where you are going and coming back.
