Residents in several parts of Newfoundland and Labrador woke up Wednesday to howling winds, blizzard conditions and disrupted travel.
Environment Canada issued a blizzard warning from Nain to Black Tickle.
Winds were expected to gust in the 100 to 120 km/h range today, before easing up on Thursday.
Snowfall accumulations of 10 to 20 cm can be expected by the time the snow comes to an end Thursday.
Due to the poor weather, several businesses and organizations are closed today.

The clinic in Nain is accepting walk-ins until 3:30 pm today.
Meanwhile, the Big Land and Northern stores are open until 4 pm today.
