The MV Umiak 1 is making its way through the ice out of the Voisey’s Bay site on Tuesday.
This was the second scheduled trip the icebreaker made this year.
Employees of Sikumiut Environmental Management Incorporated are guiding the ship through the ice.
They will also construct markers and safe crossings along the ship’s track.
The safe crossings are constructed using pontoons and will be located at Tattuk and Tabor islands.
