The Torngat Regional Housing Association is reminding potential applicants that Tuesday is the deadline to apply for a TRHA home or repairs.
Viona Hynes is with the TRHA.
She says people need to get their applications into their local housing committees by January 31.
Applications can be found at your local Inuit Community Government office.
Hynes says applicants also need to submit their 2011 Income Tax Summary as soon as they can.
She adds that the applications will be discussed by the TRHA Board during their next meeting in February.
I have always wondered, are those TRHA houses within minimum building codes? Because 90% of the houses they build, are shifting and cracking. They never pack down the lots, a lot of the time the concrete foundations are filled-in above ground. While they’re ALL waiting for their materials to arrive, they could have the lots packed down hard enough to prevent future shifting/cracking outcomes. Just saying!
