Only one bridge used for the safe crossing of snowmobilers remains along the track left by the Umiak 1.
Ron Webb is one of Sikumiut Environmental Management Limited’s partners.
He says the Umiak 1 made a trip into Voisey’s Bay over the weekend.
Sikumiut staff only replaced one of the bridges used for safe crossing after Vale’s shipping vessel departed.
Webb says they decided not to replace the bridge at Tabor Island because of the condition of the ice along the ship’s track.
The bridge at Tattok Island has been put back in place.
Sikumiut staff will decide when to remove that safe crossing in the near future.
