Rigolet Senior Women’s Workshop Taking Place This Week

A Peer Resource Training Workshop will be held in Rigolet for senior women this week.

Fifteen senior women from the Nunatsiavut communities, Upper Lake Melville and the Canadian Constituency will be attending.

The women are being shown how to build partnerships with other interested parties within Nunatsiavut and Upper Lake Melville.

Myrtle Banfield is the Executive Director for AnanauKatiget Tumingnit.

She says a manual has been developed for the seniors.

This will allow them to conduct their own workshops in their respective communities.

The seniors will return to their communities with Power Point Presentations in order to facilitate their own workshops.

Banfield adds the senior women will get together in their own communities, to raise more awareness.

And will discuss issues related to them, and access and share more information amongst themselves.
