One Radio Producer Assistant and one Television Intern.
This position will be for a period of approximately 29 weeks.

Mokami Status Of Women (Audio)

The Mokami Status of Women in Happy Valley Goose Bay is busy this summer.

Raelyene Dickers is the Executive Director for the centre.
She says they help women who are homeless and has addiction issues and mental health issues.

Dickers says the women and girls get together to socialize and do some craft work.

Executive Director Job Position Available with the OK Society

There is an Executive Director position available with the OKâlaKatiget Society.

Under the direction of the Board of Directors, the Executive Director co-ordinates all administrative and policy activity to ensure that the OKâlaKatiget Society meets its goals and objectives.

The successful applicant should have:

  • A degree in Journalism or related educated and work experience.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • High degree of self-motivation and interest in current Labrador issues.
  • Ability to speak and understand Inuktitut a major asset.

The salary range is starting at $55,000.00 annually, commensurate with experience.

Rental housing is available.

The deadline for applications is Midnight, Friday, August 31, 2018.

Radio and TV Positions (Audio)

The OKâlaKatiget Society had funding for Radio Producer Assistant and Television Intern.

Arlene Ikkusek is a Radio Producer at OKâlaKatiget Society.

She says these two positions are for approximately 29 weeks.

Ikkusek says this is a good opportunity for the Youth, because she was a Youth when she started her work here at OKâlaKatiget Society.

Master-Apprentice Inuttitut Program

The Department of Culture, Recreation, and Tourism is offering a Master-Apprentice Program for one fluent speaker and one apprentice, each from Nain, Hopedale, Makkovik, Postville, and Rigolet.

The goal of this program is set to get a non-fluent speaker learn Inuttitut from the Master.

You will engage in daily activities with each other from Monday to Friday for 10 to 15 hours per week, for seven months.

This program will begin September 10, 2018 and run until March 2019.

If you feel that you will be fully committed to this program and is eager to learn or learn or teach Inuttitut, please apply in writing to:
