Postville Receives Tidy Towns Award of Excellence

The winner of this year’s Tidy Town’s competition has been announced.

According to Ed Tuttauk, a council member for the NWR Town Council, the community of Postville received the Tidy Town’s award of excellence for 2012.

Tidy Towns is a provincial program that allows communities to compete with one another to win the title of Tidy Towns.

Communities compete against each other based on the amount of green space available, walking trails, landscaping, how people maintain their yards, and how clean people keep their town.

Also included in the judging are how many trees and flowers are planted.

In addition to that, historical sites are taken into consideration as well as the community’s heritage.

The main purpose of the Tidy Town’s project is to beautify the communities as well as to ensure community cooperation to make sure that their town looks wonderful.

The amount of community cooperation is also taken into account when evaluating a community for the award.

With respect to tourism, projects like this can add to their economy by having tourists visit communities who have won the title of Tidy Towns.

It can become a tourist attraction to win a title like this.

Ed Tuttauk says that the project is a really nice way to get communities working together.

He adds that it allows people to take pride in their towns.

And that when people get involved in their communities, it goes to show exactly how much can be achieved.

So congratulations to the community of Postville for winning this year’s Tidy Town’s project.
