There’s only one week left until the end of the short char season at Nain’s fish plant.
Deide Kohlmeister, the plant’s Office Supervisor, says their doors will be closing next Friday.
There was only 20,000 pounds of char landed at the plant during a short two-week period.
That’s only around half of what was landed last season.
Crews have already begun cleaning the plant in preparation for next week’s closure.
Kohlmeister says the public is able to purchase seafood products from the plant until next Friday.
