October 1st Is National Senior’s Day

October 1 is National Seniors Day.

The Government of Canada is proud to pay tribute to the seniors who have helped build our country and continue to make valuable contributions to Canadian communities, workplaces and society.

National Seniors Day is an occasion for all Canadians to appreciate and celebrate our seniors.

There are some tips and resources to celebrate the day and commemorate the seniors in your life.

There are lots of ways for individuals, community groups, schools, employers and families to celebrate National Seniors Day.

Here are some tips you can do to celebrate senior’s day.

– Look through a photo album with a senior

– Play a game and/or learn a game with a senior
– Make artwork or a craft for a senior
– Watch an old film or family videos with a senior
– Call a grandparent or an elder
– Thank a senior who has made a difference in your life
– Spend time with a senior
– Learn a recipe from a senior
– Help a senior with a daily chore
– Send a letter or a postcard to a senior
– Come up with some of your own ideas!
