The Nunatsiavut Government is working really hard regarding the population of the George River Caribou Herd, which has drastically declined, and keeps declining.
Johannes Lampe is the president.
He says the Provincial Government and the Premier of Newfoundland recently met with the Nunatsiavut Government about the caribou during the Northern Lights Trades Show.
Lampe says they thanked the province for not listing the George River Caribou as endangered.
He adds they questioned the Premier as to why the current ban on harvesting George River Caribou is not being strictly enforced.
