North Coast Remembrance Day School Assemblies

On the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, Canadians are asked to pause in memory of the thousands of men and women who sacrificed their lives in military service.

This day is called Remembrance Day.

North Coast schools are holding their assemblies on Wednesday November 10.

In Hopedale, they start at 10:50 am at the Amos Comenius Memorial School with the singing of O Canada and a few poems.

The Canadian Rangers, Junior Canadian Rangers and the RCMP will march in.

In recognition of their “spirit day”, they are asking for everyone to wear red, a poppy, and/or JCR/Ranger uniforms.

In Rigolet, there will be an assembly at 2 pm at Northern Lights Academy.

In Nain, an assembly at Jens Haven Memorial School starts at 10:50 am.

In Makkovik, their assembly will start at 11 am at the JC Erhardt Memorial school gym.

In Postville, they start their assembly at the BL Morrison School gym at 10:45 am.

The public is welcome to attend assemblies in each of their communities.
