Fifty Moose Harvested For Nunatsiavut

Fifty moose have been harvested to be delivered to the communities of Nunatsiavut.

Darryl Shiwak of Rigolet is the Minister of Lands and Natural Resources and Ordinary Member for the Nunatsiavut Government.

He says the moose were harvested at Gros Morne National Park on the Island.

Shiwak says some Nunatsiavut beneficiaries took part in the hunt.

The moose meat is butchered on the Island before it’s flown to Labrador’s North coast communities.

Stay tuned to AtjiKangitut this week to hear Shiwak give you more detailed information about the moose hunt for Nunatsiavut.
