Nominations for Candidates for AngajukKâk

Nominations of candidates for election for the AngajukKâk for the community government elections for the municipality of Nain will be received between the hours of 9am for 4pm starting on Tuesday, August 16 to 23, 2022 at the Nain Inuit Community Government office/meeting room.

Nominations shall be in writing and shall state the name and residence of the candidate and shall be signed by the proposer and seconder, both of whom shall be present together with the candidate, who shall also sign signifying his or her acceptance of the nomination.

Every candidate for election for the AngajukKâk shall, at the time of his or her nomination, deposit the sum of twenty-five dollars with the returning officer.

The qualifications of a candidate for election for the AngajukKâk are as follows:

1. An Inuk
2. Candidate citizen of the full age of 19 years
3. Ordinary resident in the community or area for at least two months prior to the date set for nominations.

The election, if required, will take place on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 between the hours of 8am and 8pm at polling booth to be located at the Nain Inuit Community Government office.
