The local weather station in Nain has a new permanent full time worker.
We spoke with Wayne Baikie, the Weather Observer/Weather Station Manager.
Baikie says they had the job ad posted for 2 to 3 weeks.
He says Patrick Goudie is the successful full time worker.
Goudie will be heading out to Cornwall, Ontario for a 6 week training course.
This course will teach Goudie how to observe and report the weather properly.
Right now there are 2 full time workers, Wayne Baikie and Chris Igloliorte.
He adds each worker rotates work- 2 weeks on and one week off.
The weather station gives reports every hour to Environment Canada in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.
