Jens Haven Memorial students gathered in their gym Tuesday to get the Huskies pumped up for this weekend’s regional volleyball tournament.
Jacob Larkin is the Principal of Jens Haven.
He says they held a pep rally on Tuesday for the male athletes.
Also joining in the cheering was the school’s new mascot.
A grey and white husky mascot was unveiled during Tuesday’s pep rally.
Larkin says the mascot should be whipping out some signature moves during the next rally.
The male Huskies are heading out to Happy Valley-Goose Bay this weekend for the regional volleyball competition.
The boys qualified for the event following their first place win at this falls’ sports meet.
Patrick Webb, the team’s captain, says they’ll be competing against teams from Labrador City and the host community, Happy Valley-Goose Bay.
The winner from the regional competition will go on to compete for the provincial title.
