Construction of the multi purpose building in Hopedale has been ongoing since May.
Kitu Abel, the Town Manager, says the foundation was completed last year.
Colby’s Construction from the island of Newfoundland has the contract.
The multi purpose building will include the following:
A gymnasium, senior’s room, youth center, computer room, kitchen, fitness room, and other space.
Abel says that they may have at least two local people employed by Colby’s Construction this year.
She adds that there will be no water and sewer projects in Hopedale this year.
