The Labrador School Board has sent in extra resources to help the students of Jens Haven Memorial deal with a recent tragic event.
Henry Windler is the board’s Director of Education.
He says a coordinator from the board has met with the Nunatsiavut government and Health Labrador to coordinate an intervention.
Support staffs, such as guidance counselors, were flown into the community this week to assist with the intervention.
They will be working alongside Jens Haven’s Tragedy Emergency Response Team and Nain’s Crisis Response Team to provide support to the community.
Windler says the board is not releasing any of the details surrounding the tragic event that took place at the Jens Haven Memorial School on Wednesday.
