Impaired Drivers Charged in Labrador on Weekend

Two drivers have been arrested and charged with impaired driving over the Canada Day weekend in Labrador.
On June 30, 2016, at approximately 12 pm, Nain RCMP received a call from a concerned citizen that a man was driving an ATV in the community while impaired.
The police conducted a patrol in the community, and found the man within minutes.
The man, who was impaired by alcohol, was arrested and taken into custody.
The 29 year old from Nain was held overnight and released the following day.
He will be appearing in Nain Provincial Court at a later date.

Meanwhile, on July 3, at approximately 2:47 am, RCMP in Happy Valley-Goose Bay received a call from a concerned citizen that a man had just left a bar in the community and driven away in a silver SUV while impaired.
RCMP located a vehicle matching the description on Hamilton River Road driving at a high rate of speed.
A traffic stop was conducted, and an investigation determined that the driver was impaired by alcohol; the driver was then arrested.
The 22 year old man from Channel-Port au Basque was held in custody overnight and released the following day.
He will be appearing in Provincial Court in Happy Valley-Goose Bay at a later date.
