Monday August 1st, 2011 Come Home Year celebrations come to an end.
We spoke with Karen Wheeler who is one of the committee members.
She says Friday July 29th there is a Community Lunch from 1130-1:30 at the Masonic Lodge. For $8.00, you will be served Fish and Brewis, dessert, along with tea/coffee. This community lunch is being hosted by the MADD Labrador Chapter.
Wheeler says the SPCA will be hosting an open house from 1-3pm as part of the Come Home Year events.
She says this year the Labrador Canoe Regatta will be held on July 29th to the 31st. The closing ceremonies for Come Home to Labrador and the grand finale for the Regatta takes place Sunday evening. This will begin at 9 pm and will be followed by fireworks at Gosling Park.
She says on Monday the Come Home Farewell will feature a hamburger and hot dog barbeque from 4-8pm at the town hall in Happy Valley . The farewell will end with live entertainment and more fireworks.
Admission is free for all but donations will be greatly appreciated for the Ronald Mc Donald House.
