The provincial government has allocated $235, 000 for repairs to social housing units in Nain.
The funds will be used to carry out renovations on six Newfoundland and Labrador housing units.
Budgell’s Equipment and Rentals holds the contract to carry out the work.
The work will include replacing windows, sidings and roofs.
Newfoundland and Labrador Housing selected the homes set to receive repairs based on a needs assessment.
The funds come as part of the provincial government’s Northern Strategic Plan for Labrador.
An additional $2.4 million has been spent on social housing units in Nain and Hopedale over the past two years.
Those funds saw the construction of four new units in each of the communities.
