DHSD Halloween Activities

Nunatsiavuts Department of Health and Social Development are holding their yearly Halloween activities in their communities.

Okalakatiget was in contact with each community to see what they’ve planned for Halloween.

Nain DHSD showed a Halloween kids movie “Hocus Pocus” on Monday October 20 at the DHSD.

17 children ages 8 years and up, attended and enjoyed popcorn and juice.

On Wednesday October 22they held a Halloween family night, and 65 people   attended.

Attendees participated in a Halloween craft station and punch and Carmel apples was served to all who came.

This Wednesday Oct. 29 they will hold an adult Halloween social for 18 years and older.

A contest will take place for the most outrageous, scariest and funniest costumes

This will be followed by games, refreshments and a 50/50 draw on a pumpkin will also take place.

On Wednesday Oct. 29 there will be a Halloween merchandise bingo for seniors, and a Halloween costume contest.

In Makkovik they held their Family fall fest

On Monday they held a Halloween party which had a great turnout .

Friday evening they held a Zombie walk and served hot chocolate at the DHSD building.

A family photo scavenger hunt was also held, and was also a great success.

On Monday we will have information from the Hopedale and Postville Halloween activities.
