A volleyball tournament in memory of Darren Lee concluded in Natuashish last evening.
Jim Nui is the recreation director for the Innu Band Council.
Nui says altogether there were 16 teams participating from Natuashish, Nain, Hopedale and Sheshashiu.
First place finishers received an award of three thousand dollars while runner ups got $150.00 per player.
Winners for the tournament in the male division were team players from Nain and Natuashish called InnuInuit.
Nui also added that the female championships were also with InnuInuit players from Sheshashiu, natuashish, Nain and Hopedale.
Runner up female team came from Nain
And male runner up came from Natuashish .
Nui also added that they handed out two awards for most valuable playes.
In the male division Ben Andrew of Natuashish got that award and Maggie Jarvish of Sheshashiu got the MVP award in the female division.
