Construction of a Floating Dock to Increase Aurora’s Presence in Postville

Activity in the Postville hasn’t reached the levels that were expected with the lifting of the uranium moratorium.

The community was bustling with exploration-related activities before the moratorium was put in place.

Ches Andersen, the VP of Labrador Affairs with Aurora Energy Limited, says they’ll have more of a presence in the community once they construct a floating dock.

He says the dock will be located near Postville on Salmon Pond.

It will serve as a landing area for the exploration company’s float plane.

The floating dock will allow Aurora to use Postville as their base of operations.

Happy Valley-Goose Bay is the current base.

Aurora is waiting for the approval of an environmental assessment by the provincial government.

Andersen says their hoping to hear from the government by the end of the month.

The Nunatsiavut Government has already given their approval for the construction of the floating dock.
