Cleanup Of Old Oil Drums Started (Audio)

The debris and old oil drums abandoned by mining companies over the years in Labrador is now being cleaned up.

The work at the sites started a couple of days ago.

Emma Sharkey is a Board Member with Restoration of Labrador Exploration Sites, or ROLES.

She says a survey was done in some sites in the Nain area a couple of years ago.

Sharkey says a total of 72 sites were surveyed and 514 old oil drums were documented.
