AnânauKatiget Catering a Big Success

AnânauKatiget Tumingit Incorporated had great success in sales this summer with their lunches and dinners in Nain.

Joanna Tuglavina is the Project Coordinator for the Regional Women’s Group.

She says that during six weeks of the summer they made approximately sixteen thousand dollars.

Tuglavina says they had six women preparing meals daily with ingredients ordered from Happy Valley Goose Bay.

They catered various groups, organizations and individuals within the town of Nain.

Tuglavina says that funds were received from the Tasiujatsuak Trust fund.

The funds were used to hire local women to have them gain self confidence, to gain work experience, to work as a team and to learn how to cook and prepare meals.

Harriet Kalleo was the Supervisor and Tuglavina says that she did an excellent job.

Tuglavina adds that the funds raised over the summer will be used to start up another project again next summer, with more variety.

AnânauKatiget is very thankful to Air Labrador for free shipment of their supplies, and to Jens Haven Memorial School for providing the space needed.
