A Rundown of Election Results

Voter turnout was down in yesterday compared to 2008’s Presidential Election.

Nunatsiavut Electoral Officer Jack Shiwak says around 36 percent of eligible voters headed to the polls on Tuesday.

A number he says is down from 2008’s election.

The first results to come in were from North West River.

Susan Nochasak came out on top in that community with 33 votes.

She also received five votes through advanced polls for a total of 38 votes.

Sarah Leo came in second in North West River with 25 votes in total.

Johannes Lampe received 19 votes in total from that community.

Nochasak also came out on top in Rigolet with a total of 42 votes.

She was followed by Lampe with 35 and Leo with 29 votes.

Sarah Leo claimed the most votes in Makkovik by a landslide.

She claimed 72 votes including advanced polls.

Lampe had 13 votes in that community while Nochasak had 10.

Leo also won Postville by a large margin.

She gathered 38 votes including advanced polls.

Nochasak followed with 24 votes while Lampe gathered 15.

Johannes Lampe came out on top in the Canadian Constituency.

He gathered 153 votes while Leo and Nochasak were tied with 139 votes each.

Nochasak gathered the most votes in her home community of Hopedale with 119.

She was followed by Lampe with 89 and Leo with 12 votes.

Johannes Lampe came out on top in his home community of Nain by a landslide.

He claimed 322 votes while Leo gathered 124 votes in her home community.

Nochasak gathered 17 votes.

Sarah Leo came out on top by a large margin in Happy Valley-Goose Bay with 295 votes.

She was followed by Nochasak with 155 and Lampe with 152 votes.

Johannes Lampe came out on top overall with 821 votes followed by Leo with 742 and Nochasak with 569.
