Nunatsiavut Assembly voted unanimously today to lift a moratorium on the working, production, mining and development of uranium on Labrador Inuit Lands.
Glen Sheppard is the Minister of Lands and Natural Resources of Nunatsiavut Government.
He says the moratorium on uranium mining was put in place in April 2008.
Earlier this year a committee formed by the Nunatsiavut Government held public consultations with beneficiaries of the Labrador Inuit Land Claims Agreement on the moratorium.
On Tuesday a bill was tabled to lift the moratorium and was passed unanimously this morning.
