The ice-breaker, Umiak 1, is scheduled to make its first trip into Edwards Cove for the new year.
Ron Webb and Gus A. Dicker of Nain are equal partners with Sikumiut Environmental Management Ltd.
Webb says the Umiak 1 is scheduled to arrive this Wednesday, January 24, 2018.
He says they will be out to the ice when the ice-breaker is coming through like the other years, weather permitting.
Webb says the Sikumiut crew will be putting out the pontoons once the ship goes through to Edward’s Cove.
The pontoons will be placed near Taktok until the ship is ready to pull out with its cargo.
