Torngat Fisheries Wrap-Up (Audio)

The overall fishery was good in some ways, but not in other ways this summer.

Keith Watts is the General Manager for Torngat Fish Producers Co-operative.

He says there was shortage of labourers at the Makkovik fish plant.

Watts says snow crab and turbot was landed there at the facility.

Some of the turbot had to be shipped out to Southern Labrador to be processed.

Watts says an engineer stationed at the Nain fish plant this summer made everything easier for the char to be processed for Torngat Fisheries.
