Torngat Arts And Crafts Participating In Northern Exposure 2015

Northern Exposure 2015 will be showcasing Labrador in January.
A venture of the Labrador North Chamber of Commerce, the biannual Northern Exposure event is a high profile business showcase of Labrador.
We spoke with Sophie Morissette Trembley, the Executive Director of Torngat Arts and Crafts in Nain.
She says they are excited to announce that Torngat Arts and Crafts have been asked to take part in a fashion show during Northern Exposure.
They are asking for unique pieces to represent the Nunatsiavut arts and craft sector, and are looking to purchase traditional clothing to showcase during the event.
Morissette Trembley says these garments can include traditional clothing, slippers, jewellery, mitts, hair pieces and hats.
Northern Exposure will be organizing a seal skin workshop during the workshops on January 27-29, 2015.
Torngat Arts and Crafts, in partnership with Nunavut Arts and Crafts Association, have invited participants to the workshop in St. John’s.
Morissette Trembley says they have 3 participants from Nunatsiavut that will attend: Maria Dicker from Nain, Chantelle Andersen from Makkovik, and Inez Shiwak from Rigolet.
A fashion show will take place as part of Northern Exposure and Torngat Arts and Crafts are looking to purchase or borrow traditional clothing for the show.
