Tenders Called to Carry Out Repairs on Several North Coast Wharves

The provincial government is calling for tenders to carry out rehabilitation work on several wharves in the north coast communities.

The work is being planned for the wharves in Hopedale, Postville and Rigolet.

It includes repairing, replacing and adjusting components of each of the structures.

A similar call for tenders was issued last summer.

That call for tenders also included the community of Nain.

A representative for the department of transportation and works says there were no acceptable bids submitted for the work during that call.

He adds that a call for tenders to carry out rehabilitation work on Nain’s wharf will be made in about two weeks.

The deadline to submit bids to carry out the work in Hopedale, Postville and Rigolet is next week.

The department hopes that all of the work will be completed this summer.
