RCMP Make another Drug Bust in Hopedale

Another drug bust was made by Hopedale RCMP in the community this week.

Constable Andrew Standen is with the detachment.

He says the bust was conducted on Tuesday following a tip from a resident in the community.

The RCMP ceased an undisclosed amount of marijuana and cash.

A 24-year-old male from the community is facing two charges stemming from the incident.

He will appear before Provincial Court in Hopedale in October.

This is the latest in a number of busts in the community in recent months.

Constable Standen says the detachment has made the curbing bootlegging and drug trafficking in the community their main priority.

He says the direction was given to the Hopedale RCMP by community members and leaders.
