The Labrador Friendship Centre (LFC) in Happy Valley-Goose Bay, NL has programs on the go for the summer.
Jennifer Hefler-Elson is the Executive Director for the centre.
She says they will be having their 44th Annual General Meeting on June 13th this year.
Hefler -Elson says everyone is welcome to attend that day.
She says she wants people to know how they did this year with their financial report, programs and services.

Five Youth in Nunatsiavut have been selected to take part in the exciting journey of the 2018 Students on Ice Expedition.
Two youth have been selected in Nain, one in Hopedale, one in Makkovik, and one in Rigolet.
The date for the five youth to depart their home towns is still tentative.
But it should be around July 20, 2018 when they will travel to Ottawa to attend a pre-program at Nunavut Sivuniksavut, starting July 21.
Then the expedition will start on July 23, 2018.
The youth were selected in late April 2018, and informed that they were selected in early May 2018.
OK Radio was unable to retrieve the names of the successful youth selected at this time.
We will have more information about the expedition when it becomes available.
Torngat Fish Producers Co-operative Society, Limited traveled for their Community Meetings in Labrador earlier this month.
Two delegates were elected from each community to attend the Annual General Meeting.
The Annual General Meeting will be held in Hopedale today at the Nunatsiavut Assembly Building Board room beginning at 7 pm.

The Prototype building in Nain has been completed.
Michelle Kinney is the Deputy Minister of Health and Social Development for the Nunatsiavut Government.
She says there are six units: three for Seniors, and three for youth.
Kinney says there were 25 applications, and six applicants were picked to live there.

The policy is designed to protect you and your pet, as well as other passengers.
Travellers wishing to bring their pets are advised that the Terms and Conditions for Pet Travel must be agreed to and signed prior to allowing your pet to board the vessel.

Graduates along the North Coast are preparing themselves for their proms.
17 graduates from Jens Haven Memorial School’s (JHMS) held their prom this past weekend.
In Hopedale, the Amos Comenius Memorial School (ACMS) has their prom date set for June 2.
Seven students will be graduating there.
There are no graduates for the B.L Morrison School (BLM) in Postville.
At JC Erhardt Makkovik (JCEM), there are six graduates; they will not be having a prom, but will hold a graduation ceremony on June 30.
And in Rigolet, the Northern Lights Academy (NLA) has three graduates, and they will have their prom on May 26, 2018.
Getting an X-ray done for TB in Nain has been going well since the x-ray machine was sent up and then installed in early April.
Antoinette Cabot is the Regional Director with Labrador-Grenfell Health.
She says they had their first X-ray clinic on Friday, April 6, and took pictures on Tuesday, April 10.
Cabot says she is very happy to report that they have completed 258 X-rays in Nain.
She says there are more clinics this week, and three more before the end of this month.

Following a comprehensive investigation, a 26-year-old female was arrested yesterday in Happy Valley-Goose Bay in relation to the death of a 17-year-old girl, who was found deceased by police at a residence on Katshinak Street, Natuashish on October 13, 2017.
The investigation involved the local RCMP detachment, Major Crime Unit (West), Goose Bay Serious Crime Unit, Forensic Identification Unit, and Federal Policing units, in partnership with the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
The following charges were laid: Criminal Negligence Causing Death, Failure to Provide the Necessaries of Life, and Public Mischief.
The accused was brought before a judge and was released on various conditions, with the next court date scheduled for June 4, 2018.
The RCMP are liaising with the family of the deceased, as well as the community of Natuashish.
