Orientation to Trades and Technology for Women Begins This Week

A group of women in Labrador will be getting a feel for various trades at the College of the North Atlantic in Happy Valley-Goose Bay this winter.

The Orientation to Trades and Technology program begins at the campus this week.

Jan Burry is the Community Development Coordinator for Labrador.

She says the 16-week program begins this Wednesday.

It will introduce the female participants to a number of trades that they could possibly pursue as a career.

Burry says there are still seats available for any interested women.

Applicants must be under 23-years-old and out of school for a couple of years.

Women who have completed the tech-exploration course are also eligible.

Burry says the deadline to apply is at the end of this week.

You can contact Burry at the campus in Happy Valley-Goose Bay for more information.
