The Nain Moravian Church will be celebrating their Anniversary Festival Day Sunday, February 19, 2017.
This is going to be the 241th Anniversary of the Nain Moravian church.
On February 19th, 1776, the first Inuktitut man-who happened to be a shaman-was baptized.
His Inuktitut name was “Kingmingosi”, and when he was baptized, they gave him the name “Peter”.
In observance of the Nain Church Anniversary, OKalaKatiget Society will be closed Sunday, February 19, 2017, and will only air the 10 am and 5 pm church services.
The OK Society will also be closed Monday, February 20, 2017 for the Moravian Church Anniversary holiday.
