Sometime over the long weekend, major damages were sustained to the OKâlaKatiget Society Building.

It appears that somebody threw or shot rocks into the building’s siding with enough force to put holes in and break up the siding facing the arena.

Almost all the siding will have to be replaced at a major cost to the OKâlaKatiget Society.

As the OKâlaKatiget Society is a charitable organization, we work on a very limited budget.

We are reviewing security footage, but also request the public’s help in naming the individuals or individuals involved.

The incident occurred on the main road, so there is a good chance that somebody saw something.

The former LIDC building next to the OK Building also sustained damage.

Anybody with any information about the vandalism can contact the OKâlaKatiget Society at 922-2955, or the Nain RCMP at 922-2862.

At this time, we would like to remind the public that security cameras are in place on the OKS building.
