The Nunatsiavut Assembly was held in Hopedale on September 21st, 2022.
Bryan Winters is the Speaker for the Nunatsiavut Government.
He says it was a two-day meeting to recognise the affiliation between the HMCS Margaret Brooke and people from Nunatsiavut.
There was a Kullik lighting by our Minister of Language Culture and Tourism, Roxanne Barbour, as well as some drum dancing.
Winters adds that Gus Semigak did the opening followed by a speech from the AngajukKâk of Hopedale, Marjorie Flowers.
