The Nain Inuit Community Government is now accepting positions for Councillor for the upcoming by election.
The Bi Election will be held on June 20, 2019 at the Nain Inuit community Government office.
Nominations will be accepted beginning on Thursday May 23 from 9am to 4pm and will close on Thursday May 30.
Elections for the municipality of Nain should be in writing and shall state the name and residence of the candidate and shall be signed by the proposer and seconder, both of whom shall be present together with the candidate.
The qualifications of a candidate for election for the Inuit community council are as follows:
1. Eligible to be enrolled on the A voter’s toll in an election in the community in which he or she is nominated to serve as a councillor
2. Canadian citizen of the full age of 19
3. Ordinary resident in the community or area for at least six months prior to the date set for nominations.
The polling booths will be located at the Nain Inuit Community Government office.
