NG Executive Council Approves Land-Use Plan for LISA

The Nunatsiavut Government’s Executive Council has approved a draft Regional Land-Use Plan for the Labrador Inuit Settlement Area.

The plan sets out rules and regulations relating to development and the conservation of LISA.

The plan was drafted by the Regional Planning Authority.

It was released on April 4.

The Executive Council will recommend to the Nunatsiavut Assembly that the plan be accepted and enacted into Inuit law.

The recommendation will be made during the next sitting of the assembly.

The plan was approved by the Executive Council during their meetings in Nain this week.
