The Nunatsiavut Government Economic Development Division in Happy Valley-Goose Bay recently received funding from Status of Women Canada for a two year project.
The project is called Strengthening Economic Opportunities for Entrepreneurial and Professional Women.
Brenda Jararuse is the Project Coordinator for the Economic Development Division of NG in Goose Bay.
Jararuse says that her first step for this project will be to put together an advisory committee as soon as possible.
She will be looking for women and stake holders that are interested in being a part of it.
She says after the advisory committee is in place, she will be looking for 3-5 business women who would be interested in going with her and the committee to travel to the 3 other Inuit regions of Canada.
Their goal will be to gain information on what is successful in the other regions, and bring it back to Nunatsiavut to hopefully be successful in our region.
