National Inquiry into Murdered and Missing Indigenous Women and Girls Coming to Nunatsiavut

The national inquiry into Murdered and Missing Indigenous Women and Girls (MMIWG) has been invited to Nunatsiavut and Labrador.

The inquiry is seeking to understand the systemic causes of all forms of violence, and to understand the truth about high rates of missing and murdered Indigenous Women and Girls.

The Inquiry is interested in hearing from the following:

– Family and friends of Indigenous women and girls who were murdered and are missing;
– Indigenous women and girls who have survived violence (including sexual violence); and
– Friends and family of Indigenous women and girls who have experienced violence.

The Nunatsiavut Government invites all interested individuals to connect with their respective Community Liaison Officer for assistance in registering to participate in the Inquiry.

Only those who have registered will be contacted by the inquiry.
