The search for two missing fishermen off the coast of Mary’s Harbour continues on the water today.
The Canadian Coast Guard Ship, Captain Molly Kool and Kraken Robotics’ Motor Vessel, Ocean Seeker, contracted by the provincial government, remain in the area continuing to assist the RCMP. Deer Lake Ground Search and Rescue, equipped with a side-scan sonar device, and officers with the RCMP Underwater Recovery Team are also assisting with the search.
Officers with the Department of Fisheries and Oceans have also joined in on the search and arrived in the area yesterday.
A number of local vessels from the community continue to assist police with various tasks and the RCMP thanks all those who continue to show a high level of support on the water and in the community.
