The Member of Parliament (MP) Yvonne Jones announced yesterday a contract has been awarded to design a new six-bed mental health unit at the Labrador Health Center in Happy Valley Goose Bay.
MP Jones says that the contract has been awarded to Fougere Menchenton Architecture Incorporated and it is valued at $426,000.
Jones says that the new unit will include services that are inclusive and culturally appropriate for all Labradorians and is looking forward to seeing Labradorians getting treatment they need that are closer to home.
The tender for construction will be issued in the fall and the project is expected to be completed in 2022.
