LMI’s Pilot Project

Labrador Marine Inc. has undertaken a pilot project to open the freight shed in Goose Bay on Saturday morning.

According to MHA Lela Evans post on Facebook, she would like to thank LMI for incorporating this into their schedule.

She says it wasn’t only her who advocated for this important change. The ICGs AngajukKât and NG have lobbied to have hours on Saturday.

This is a pilot project to evaluate impact on the ship loading process and may be suspended or reversed if the Saturday hours impact the ability to safely load the Kamutik W or interferes with the ability for the Kamutik W to stay on schedule.

LMI plan to evaluate this over the next month to determine the impact on ship loading procedures.

The following is added to the LMI website effective this coming Saturday:
– Saturday 8 to 10am
– Local individual shipments only, no commercial shipments will be accepted
– Freight will only be accepted within these hours
– Freight shipped this late is not guaranteed, see freight policy and procedures
– Freight will be loaded in order of date received and correct port order

Regards, Lela Evans.
