The LATP office in Nain are still accepting applications for thee 5-week Underground Mining Training in Sudbury.
We spoke with Georgia Abel the Career Counsellor for Hopedale.
Abel says right no they have a few applications and are waiting on others who are still interested.
She says right now individuals who want to apply for the underground mining training can pick up the applications at her office.
Training is aimed for March 2024, if anything changes, she will advise individuals.

To be qualified for this training, you must be unemployed or underemployed.
She adds there is a process once you fill out an application so the earlier you fill out an application the faster the process will be.
Also, the wage subsidy program is available for those who want to seek employment and who would like help to find a secure employment.
The LATP office in Hopedale will be closed on Dec. 21, 2023 at 12 noon and they will reopen again in the new year on January 8, 2023.
