Kendra Jacque of Makkovik will be receiving an Aboriginal Music Award.
Jacque has been playing the violin since she was 14 years old.
She will be continuing her education at Memorial University of Newfoundland.
Jacque says that she will be attending the Bachelor of Music program for five years.
She adds that she would also like to teach in the field.
