The construction of new homes on each of the five communities on the north coast is going well.
The repair program is also going well in the 4 communities, except for the town of Hopedale.
William Lucy is the Coordinator for Torngat Regional Housing Association.
He says Hopedale is waiting for materials and supplies to arrive on the freight boat to start the repair program.
The materials they are waiting for include doors, windows and other items.
Lucy says with just one freight boat serving the north coast communities, it’s just not enough to get all the freight people are waiting for.
He adds that he is waiting for some containers that have to be shipped up to Nain, Hopedale, Rigolet and Makkovik.
