Food Security Network Cooking Classes On The Go

The Food Security Network of Newfoundland & Labrador (FSN) is a provincial, membership based, non-profit organization.

FSN’s mission is to actively promote comprehensive, community-based solutions to ensure physical and economic access to adequate and healthy food for all.

The Nain Security Food Network is holding Community Kitchens.

We spoke with Regina Dicker, the Coordinator for the Community Food Security Network with Newfoundland and Labrador.

Dicker says right now they have 6 people in the program.

And so far they hold cooking classes every Tuesday and Thursday.

The Community Kitchen has targeted individuals who want to learn how to cook meals on a budget.

She says they can take home each meal they learn to cook, and enjoy it with their families.

Dicker says 4 cooking classes were held so far.

This program is hands-on, and a great way to learn how to cook on a budget.

She says the program runs from 1 to 4:30 pm, depending on what’s on the menu for that day.
