The Annual Ethel Pijogge Heritage Festival started on April 1st 2017 in Hopedale, NL.
The Labrathon took place on Friday, April 7th and here are the results:
The 1st place team was Janet Pijogge, Rosie Boase, Richard Boase, and William Hunter, with a time of 17 minutes, 57 seconds.
They won $1200 dollars, which was split between the four of them.
Finishing in 2nd place were Richard Winters, Charlene Frieda, Danielle Pottle and Christopher Abel, with a time of 18 minutes, 59 seconds.
They split $800 dollars.
Capturing 3rd place were Georgia Abel, Tabea Onalik, Ian Winters and Levi Semigak, with a time of 20 minutes, and 41 seconds.
They split $400 dollars.
The fishing derby took place on Saturday, April 8th from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The weigh in for the fish was at 7:00 p.m.
There were 70 people registered for this event.
The 1st place winner was Rosie Hurley.
Her fish weighed 9.2 pounds.
Hurley won herself $500 dollars.
Reeling in 2nd place was Johnny Lucy; his fish weighed 5.5 pounds.
He hauled in a prize of $300 dollars.
The 3rd place winner was Albert Tuglavina, and his fish weighed 4.5 pounds.
Tuglavina took home $200 dollars.
